Punk Ass Politicians

I'll never claim to be the type of person that follows politics regularly.  And I know very little when it comes to politics.  I do know right from wrong and I do understand that sometimes people forget right from wrong to remain loyal to their particular party.  I guess if I had to choose, Id say I lean more to the left than the right.  Im liberal thinking.  Anyway, today I was watching one of my favorite shows "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and I heard something that made me sad temporarily.  Ordinarily I am an emotional man..(Carl Thomas emotional..no) and that's usually when I hear about injustices, abuse of people, redemption stories, etc.  I dont always tear up because I control that part of me best I can.  What I heard was that there is a bill that got rejected.  To my understanding the bill was to provide health care to the rescue workers of 911 who are experiencing difficulties breathing etc from the brave job they performed on that day.  Im getting emotional now.  Think about it.. whether you want to believe it or not or you find yourself not feeling a certain type of way or not, a stranger has the job of saving the life of another stranger.  This person man or woman chose this job.  They rush into burning buildings, harms way, sacrificing (potentially) their lives for others.  Hero.  So this bill was shot down because the money from the bill would come from american corporations who seek to avoid paying taxes in america by "basing" their corporation overseas.  The republicans for the most part thought this was a bad idea?  Wtf?  I teared up briefly because there are a lot of people who didnt come out of those crumbling buildings and they only died because they were trying to save someone else.  They died being Heroes!  And so the ones who made it out cant get some much needed health assistance because the Republicans dont wont to vote for this bill?  Punk Ass Politicians!  I dont vote often and as Ive stated Im not heavy into politics and most of the reason why is because I dont feel like I would actually make  a difference.  Maybe Im being lazy, maybe Im cynical.  Either way if youre a republican and support the jack asses who shot down this bill, emotionally I say Fuck You!!

Football Season!!! LAMBEAUUUU FIELD...

This is my favorite time of the year. Its football season!  First preseason game: Dallas vs Cincy.  Even though its preseason and most of the "stars" of the game wont be on the field for long, I still get that football hors d'oeuvre before the main course and it just makes my mouth water.  I live for this time of the year.  I don't have a favorite team per se, I have favorite players.  The teams I am cheering for this year are the Bengals (for the T.O. Ochocinco combo; these guys get it, they're entertainers and understand that), the Cowboys (for Roy Williams--Longhorn) the Titans (for Vince Young--Longhorn), the Dolphins (Ricky Williams--Longhorn) I do like Miami though as a team. Obviously my favorite college team is UT.  Hook em!  This time of the year, my days aren't just days.  My week begins with Monday night football, Tuesday and Wednesday's nothing. Thursday and NFL game and a college football game on ESPN.  Friday night, nothing.  Saturday, all day I am watching college football, every game every team.  Sunday NFL action.  Every game every team.  There is a site I wont name that I like to go to and place a bet or two on some of the games.  I'm excited!  Its finally here!  I love football.
